The duo method is new and very effective! Try this method first, especially when you have a tough sudoku at hand.

Look for ninesomes in which a figure can only occur at precisely two cells, at that moment. Jott it down in small, in the left hand side of both cells. An example: 

Even a duo can act as a spotlight, as you can see in the right upper corner here:

Whenever two of these candidates occur on one column or row, they exclude the same figure one the same column of row. And, when one member of a duo is terminated, the other member is at the right spot. Bingo! (i.e. the right 6 of the duo of  6'es).

Sometimes other members of a duo are terminated in the same process, a cascade can be the consequence. Bingo again!

This can clean up significantly. Try it yourself in the next example...

Ook een duo kan als spotlight optreden. Kijk maar rechtsboven in het volgende voorbeeld.

Wanneer twee van deze kandidaten op één horizontale of verticale lijn voorkomen, sluiten zij hetzelfde cijfer op dezelfde lijn uit. En als een lid van een duo uitvalt, staat het andere lid op de juiste plaats. Invullen dus (in onderstaand geval de rechter 6 van het duo 6'en).

Soms vervallen hiermee ook andere leden van een duo in het betreffende hokje, waardoor de eer aan de andere leden van de betreffende duo's vervalt. Weer invullen dus.

En dat kan behoorlijk opruimen. Probeer het maar eens uit in het volgende voorbeeld...
